Thursday, April 6, 2017 7:00:00 PM UTC - 8:00:00 PM UTC
Objectives:
1.       Participants will learn how and when to start planning for college using a timeline developed by the presenters.
2.       Participants will learn specifics about examining and utilizing personal resources, including 529 College Savings Plans, ABLE Accounts, gifts, and other savings options when appropriate.
3.       Participants will learn about public resources available to pay for college including government funded programs such as IDEA as well as typical financial aid options like scholarships, grants, work study and loans.

This event on planning & saving for college is co-sponsored by the PACER Center, as we share in the belief that college should be accessible for everyone. In addition to having to advocate for the best academic and social supports for your college student, there is the issue of paying for college. These two financial advisors, pulling from personal and professional experience, will share their expertise about how to do that. There are many sources of money to pay for college that many people may not be aware of. The overall goal is to raise awareness of options available for families to consider.
